A fun way to shop Etsy

We've been working hard to create a very visual and clean way of shopping Etsy in collaboration with real bride bloggers, and today we are happy to be launching a new Etsy shopping app.

You can see virtually endless number of items on one page compared to a handful in the standard view. We created a short video below to show you what it is all about:

Some unique features:

* With the "zoom slider", you can view items in sizes anywhere from small thumbnails to large with all the details.
* With the "infinite scrolling", you can scroll instead of clicking on next and previous page.
* With the "price range slider", you can set your minimum and maximum price without typing.
* With the "hover card", you can the title, price, seller, and description just by putting your mouse over the item.

And of course, the standard sorting, filters, and keyword search are still available.

Check out a review from a real bride Etsy shopper.

We hope you find this to be a fun way of shopping Etsy!

The HOT Bride Award

We are proud to kick off the HOT Bride Award!

HOT Bride Award

This award goes to brides that has been given out thoughtful and practical wedding advice on their blog.

We'll start by telling 7 advice from our wedding planning:

o Don't over spend on your dress. No one will remember it unless you are a celebrity.
o Don't try to do everything yourself. Delegate authority to people you trust.
o Don't worry about any mess ups during the wedding. No one will notice except you.
o Prioritize your projects by importance, not just what you love. Drop the less important ones or downgrade to something simpler if you run out of time.
o Assign helpers to things, not just tasks. Who is bringing what to each location.
o Saving money might be worth it for everything. Your sanity is more important.
o Plan for emotional elements. People will remember what made them laugh and cry more than the color of the flowers.

We nominate the following real bride bloggers:

o Jenni @ AZInAugust
o Becca @ A Los Angeles Love
o Kate @ Diary of a Manhattan Actress's Wedding
o Jaime @ WeddObsessed
o Carlise @ MiniBudgetBride
o Jennifer @ City Girl Bride
o Laura @ Lucky in Love
o Britt @ The Bowie Bride

Please accept by clicking on the award, and pass it on to other HOT brides!

Where in the world are you getting married?

Who is getting married around my area? Who's doing a destination wedding?
Who is having a wedding with similar style, color or budget as me?
Which couples have similar ethnic or cultural background as me?

These are some of the questions that often come up when brides are looking for advice and inspiration from other brides, so we decided to create something to capture these information in a search-able way.

We also wanted this to be a place where people can put all their other wedding profiles in one place (their blog, Twitter profile, Etsy profile, forums profile, etc).

The result? HelperOfTheBride Bios, a map of bios showing planning, reception, ceremony, and honeymoon locations among other bio details.

You can browse wedding bios on the map, or search by location, wedding date, budget, age, colors, styles, and groups. Viewing the details on a bio shows the person's recent blog posts, tweets, and Etsy updates! Plus, you can also see who the person hearts, and who hearts the bio!

We invite anyone planning their wedding to "Get Mapped" now, and help us build this cool resource for future couples.
